Year 1 have been looking at the weather during this half term. We have investigated why the days get longer in the summer, how wind is created and we have also made windsocks to find out which way the wind is blowing.
We found out that wind on land is warmer than wind on water during the day but it all changes during the night. At night, the wind on land gets colder and the wind on water gets warmer because the land is cooling down.
The thing Year 1 enjoyed most was making the windsocks and testing them on the playground finding out that on the day the wind was blowing from the south.
