Wow, what an amazing learning experience we had, despite the showers!
Year One are always ready to learn whatever the weather so a few showers didn’t stop us from having a full and exciting day.
The whole day was the brilliant start toAutumn 2's exciting topic of Celebrate!
We had the opportunity to take part in lots of creative activities such as:
Finding out about the reason Diwali is celebrated. Diwali recalls the story of Prince Rama and Princess Sita who were fought to overcome the ten-headed demon Ravana. We had to find images from the story and sequence them so the story made sense.
To celebrate Diwali we also made Diya lamps using clay. After half term we are going to paint and decorate them.
When the rain showers came we moved inside to make Rangoli patterns.
We also found out about why we celebrate Bonfire Night but not everything about it and we have been told that there is more exciting lessons to come. We made firework pictures and sensory bottles.
