In Reception over the next few weeks we are looking at the traditional tales of Jack and the Beanstalk, Goldilocks and the Three Bears and The Gingerbread Man.

The children have been working hard to re-tell the stories in their original format, but also making changes to the stories. The children have enjoyed being imaginative with the stories and suggesting alternative events. For example, Goldilocks asked us to re-write the story so that she wasn’t naughty and didn’t break baby bears chair! Instead, Goldilocks went for a walk with the Three Bears, played football with baby bear and they all ate porridge together!

They have started growing their own beanstalks like the one in Jack and the Beanstalk...wonder what we might find at the top of our beanstalks?

They have been hunting for the Fox from The Gingerbread Man and teaching him good manners! They have also been busy practising doubles with 2 gingerbread men and buttons!
